Dan’s approach often resonates with people who are experiencing deep distress or self-mistrust when it seems like their own reactions to a situation don’t make sense to themselves or to those around them, often described as a feeling like there’s a battle between one’s own thoughts, emotions and bodily reactions. Drawing from DBT, ACT, and polyvagal theory, we would work together to identify where these points of disconnections between your brain, body, and emotions are showing up—and understand why they developed in the first place. From there, we’d focus on practical steps to rebuild trust, confidence, and a sense of control within yourself, while expanding your capacity for safety and connection with others and with your environment.
Finally, Dan provides professional consultation services for fellow trauma therapists, with a focus on DBT, ACT and Somatic embodiment practices to help fellow therapist working with heavy caseloads including instances of client dissociation, trauma & abuse processing.
