Meet Your Therapist

I’m Deborah (she/her.)

My path into this work began early. Growing up in a family with its own dysfunctions, I became deeply curious about how people relate, why we struggle the way we do, and what helps us heal. That curiosity led me to spend part of my student years working in a research lab studying compassion, and I wrote my thesis on intercultural competency - little did I know then just how relevant that would become in my own life.

I moved to Canada from Germany in 2016, following my sister and falling in love with the nature and lifestyle Vancouver has to offer. Living here brought out a different side of me - one that feels most at peace hiking through the backcountry, paddleboarding on quiet lakes, or wandering the city streets with my dog. At the same time, I love the energy of the city- music, dance, and the buzz of connection. I’m always trying to find that sweet spot between movement and stillness, solitude and community.

Offering Therapy in East Vancouver & Online

I practice on the ancestral and unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Over the years, I’ve navigated PTSD, chronic health challenges, and the very human messiness of starting over. Immigrating to a new country taught me a lot about grief, culture shock, language barriers, and loneliness but also about resilience, growth, and finding belonging in unexpected places. Those experiences shaped who I am and how I move through the world with a deep respect for people's stories, emotions, and the many ways we find our way back to ourselves.

I’m fluent in both English and German, and feel at home bridging cultures, listening deeply, and meeting people where they’re at-with honesty, compassion, and a sense of humour whenever possible.

My Approach to Healing and Growth

Therapy isn’t just about overcoming immediate obstacles-it’s about equipping you with lasting tools for emotional resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth.

Together, we’ll develop strategies for effective coping, self-compassion, and building a deeper connection to your life’s purpose.

Based in East Vancouver, Therapy with me is a compassionate, collaborative journey where you are seen and heard without judgment. We’ll work together in a safe, supportive space to explore what lies beneath your anxiety, self-doubt, or feelings of being stuck. I honor your pace and your unique story, blending gentle curiosity with practical tools and evidence-based practices.

You can expect sessions that feel grounded and real - where emotions, feelings and thoughts are welcomed and your body’s wisdom is respected. Whether through talk therapy, somatic awareness, or parts work, we focus on healing the root causes, not just managing symptoms.

My goal is to help you reconnect with your true self, build resilience, and gain clarity. Therapy here isn’t about fixing you - it’s about uncovering your strengths and supporting your growth so you can live more fully and authentically.
