What You Need To Know
Brainspotting is a neuroscience informed, focused therapy method for treating trauma, anxiety, phobias, addictions, depression, and somatic pain. It is also used for creatives (actors, writers, musicians) and public speakers to enhance their performance.
It works by accessing, processing, and releasing involuntary emotional and physical reactions to stress and sources of pain deep and is a fast and effective treatment to regulate the nervous system. It's foundational premise is that the body is a self - healing organ and knows how to self- regulate, if we study and follow it's impulses.
In a Brainspotting session, the therapist holds a pointer up and looks for an eye position that a person’s brain connects with as part of a challenging event or a set of emotional and physical reactions.
