Animal Assisted Therapy in Vancouver

A unique approach

Animal-assisted therapy is an intervention in which animals play an active role in improving health and well-being. It involves interactions between individuals and animals, facilitated by a trained therapist or healthcare professional, to achieve specific therapeutic goals.

Research has shown that the bond between humans and animals is unique and of therapeutic power in a lot of different ways.

Our Approach

What to expect

While Luna is not a service dog, her presence often brings a gentle layer of support to therapy sessions. Before each appointment, I ask clients to decide whether they’d like Luna to join - ensuring her presence always feels like a choice. Clients can engage with Luna in different ways—through petting, quiet companionship, or simply noticing the calm energy she brings into the room. This mindful interaction can help clients tune into their body’s signals, offering a grounding way to track shifts in emotion and sensation during the therapeutic process.Luna often adds her own touch to the connection. She may lean softly against someone, curl up at their feet, rest her head on a knee, offer steady eye contact, or gently nuzzle a hand. These small gestures of companionship can create moments of calm and ease within the therapeutic space.
